Pick a theme such as Space, Ocean, Animals, Food, Fruit and Veg, Sports, Weather, Music, Jobs or Science, then hunt for hidden words in a fresh grid of letters. Every puzzle is generated on the spot, so you never play the same board twice.
Words can hide in all eight directions: across, down, diagonally and even backwards. Drag across a word to mark it with a bright highlighter stroke and watch it get crossed off your list, or tap its first and last letters instead. Each word you find is worth 100 points, and a speed bonus shrinks every second until the puzzle is solved, so quick eyes earn the best scores. If you get stuck, a hint flashes the first letter of a hidden word, but each one costs points and you only have three per puzzle.
This free online word search game is relaxing enough to enjoy with a cup of tea, making it ideal for word lovers, kids and casual players on desktop or mobile. Ten themes and hundreds of words keep every round fresh. Tip: scan for uncommon letters such as Q, X, Z or J, since words containing them are much easier to spot in the grid.
How to play
Find every word on the list hidden in the letter grid. Words run in straight lines in any of 8 directions, forwards or backwards. Drag from the first letter to the last, or tap the first and then the last letter, to select a word. Each word is worth 100 points, plus a speed bonus that shrinks every second. Hints (H) flash a word's first letter but cost 75 points, with 3 per puzzle. Arrows plus Space work too.
Controls
- Mouse drag / touch swipe: Select a word in any of 8 directions
- Click or tap first + last letter: Select a word without dragging
- Arrow keys / WASD + Space: Move the cursor and mark the first and last letter
- H: Hint (first letter of a hidden word)
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute sound
