Word Ladder is a calm, clever word puzzle about changing one letter at a time. You start with one word at the top of a wooden ladder and must reach a goal word at the bottom, changing exactly one letter per step and landing on a real word every time. Turn cold into warm, a quiet little brain teaser where the shortest route is called par and every step you save earns a better score.
Click a letter and type its replacement, or simply type a letter and the ladder picks the spot for you. Undo is unlimited, the first hint on every puzzle is free, and hints reveal the next word on a shortest route. Three stars need par with at most one hint. The campaign has 72 levels that climb from short three and four letter words to long five letter detours, and from level 18 on some puzzles ban a word that would be the obvious step, so you have to find another way. Free play gives easy, medium and hard puzzles, and the daily puzzle is the same for everyone.
Earn coins and experience for each climb, unlock new colour themes and upgrades such as extra free hints and a coin bonus, complete daily goals and keep your streak alive. It is a good fit for word game fans who like relaxed puzzles without a timer. Tip: work from both ends in your head, because the goal word often gives away the last step.
How to play
Change exactly one letter per step to turn the start word into the goal word, making a real word every time. Click a letter and type a new one, or just type a letter. Fewer steps means a better score, and par is the shortest ladder. Banned words cannot be used.

- Click letter + type: Pick a spot and change it
- A-Z: Type a letter to try it
- Left / Right: Move the letter cursor
- Backspace: Undo the last step
- Tab: Hint
- Esc: Pause
- Touch: Tap a letter, then use the on-screen keyboard
