Wall Runner Board
Race your pawn across the board while placing walls to slow your rival, without ever sealing them in. Climb a seven-rung ladder, try the daily maze, or play a friend.
Wall Runner Board is a race-and-block strategy game for two. Each player has one pawn that starts at the middle of its own edge, and the goal is to reach the opposite edge first. On your turn you either step one square, jumping over a pawn that stands in your way, or place one of your limited walls to lengthen your rival's route. The catch is that a wall may never close off the goal completely, so every wall is a careful bit of maze building.
Dotted path lines show the shortest route for each pawn, so you can see exactly what a wall costs your opponent and what it costs you. The seven computer opponents climb from Scout, who mostly wanders, to Sphinx, who looks several moves ahead. The quick seven by seven board makes fast games, and later you unlock fewer-wall races and maze starts with random walls already in place. Matches earn XP, coins and a score for speed and saved walls, and coins unlock five board and pawn styles. Each day has a Daily Maze Dash with a fresh random maze, a streak bonus and three rotating goals.
It suits fans of abstract strategy games, maze puzzles and quick head-to-head races, alone or with a friend on one screen. Tip: do not spend walls early. Keep a few in hand, and use them when a single wall costs your rival several steps.
How to play
Each turn, step your pawn one square up, down, left or right, or place a wall in the gap between squares. If your rival's pawn is next to you, jump over it. A wall may never seal off the goal row completely. Reach the far side of the board first to win. Hints and undo are available.
Controls
- Mouse / tap: Click a glowing square to step. Click a groove, or tap WALL, to place a wall (touch: tap the same spot twice)
- Arrow keys: Step your pawn, or move the wall cursor in wall mode
- W / R: Toggle wall mode / rotate the wall
- Enter / Space: Place the wall in wall mode
- U / Backspace: Undo your last move
- H: Hint (costs 15 coins)
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
