Nine tic-tac-toe boards inside one big board, where every move chooses your opponent's next board. Beat seven computer rivals, solve a daily win-in-N puzzle, or play a friend on one screen.
Tic-Tac-Toe Ultimate takes the paper-and-pencil classic and nests it: the grid is made of nine small tic-tac-toe boards, and you win the match by taking three small boards in a row on the big board. The twist is in where you play. The cell you pick inside a small board decides which board your opponent must play in next, so every mark is both an attack and a gift. If you are sent to a board that is already decided, you may play anywhere.
You climb a ladder of seven opponents. Chalk plays wherever it likes and Crayon grabs boards without a plan. Marker looks two moves ahead, Quill and Stencil start steering you toward boards you cannot use, and Blueprint and Grand Ink search deep enough to punish a careless send. If every board is decided with no winning line, the player with more boards wins. Wins earn XP, coins and five paper and ink styles, and a new mid-game puzzle arrives every day: find the moves that force a win within the limit, with stars for solving it cleanly and a streak counter that rewards coming back.
It is a great fit for tic-tac-toe fans who want real strategy, for quick solo sessions and for two players sharing a phone. Tip: before you play a cell, look at which board it sends your opponent to, and try to send them somewhere they cannot hurt you.
How to play
Tap a cell inside one of the small boards to place your mark. The position of that cell chooses the small board your opponent must play in next. Win a small board with three in a row, and win the match by taking three small boards in a row. If you are sent to a board that is full or already won, you can play in any open board. Beat each opponent to unlock the next, and solve the daily puzzle within its move limit.
Controls
- Mouse / tap: Place a mark (touch on small screens: tap once to preview, tap again to place)
- Arrow keys + Enter / Space: Move the cursor and place a mark
- U / Backspace: Undo your last move
- H: Hint (costs 15 coins)
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
