Sum Strike
Tap number tiles that add up exactly to the chalk target before time runs out. Chain sums, grab gold double-score and clock tiles, and survive rising levels on three lives.
Sum Strike is a fast mental math puzzle drawn in chalk on a classic green school blackboard. A target number appears at the top, and you tap or drag across the number tiles below to build a sum that hits it exactly. Strike the total and the tiles burst into chalk dust, new tiles drop in from above and the next target is written up straight away.
The first targets are friendly sums of two or three small numbers with plenty of time, but every four solved sums the level rises: tile values climb toward nine, targets need more tiles and the chalk timer shortens. Go over the target and you bust, losing your chain and a chunk of time; let the timer run out and you lose one of three lives. From level two, gold tiles double the points of any sum they are part of, and from level three clock tiles bank three extra seconds for the next target. Longer sums, fast answers and unbroken chains all multiply your score.
This number puzzle game is a fun way to sharpen arithmetic for students and adults alike, in short high-score runs. Your best score and best level are saved. Tip: build big totals from many small tiles instead of one large one, since every extra tile adds to the reward.
How to play
Select tiles whose numbers add up exactly to the target shown at the top. Tap tiles one by one or drag across them; tap a selected tile again or press Clear to undo. Matching the target scores points based on the target, the number of tiles, your chain and the time left. Going over busts your selection and costs time. If the timer empties you lose a life, and the run ends after three. Gold tiles double a sum's score and clock tiles add three seconds to the next target.
Controls
- Mouse click / tap: Select or deselect a tile
- Drag: Select several tiles in one stroke
- Arrow keys / WASD + Space or Enter: Move the cursor and select a tile
- X / Backspace: Clear the selection
- R: Restart the run
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute sound
