Star Defenders is a retro space shooter where rows of blocky pixel aliens march across the sky, stepping lower every time they reach the edge. You have one laser cannon, four crumbling shields and a steady trigger finger. It is classic arcade tension in its purest form.
Every alien you blast makes the rest of the formation march faster, so the last few invaders turn into a frantic chase. Your shields protect you, but both your shots and theirs chip them away over time. Watch for the bonus saucer gliding across the top of the screen: hit it for a mystery score of 50 to 300 points and a few seconds of Twin Laser. Clear a wave and the next one starts lower, shoots more often and moves quicker. Top-row aliens are worth the most points, so aim high when you can.
This free online alien shooter is for retro arcade fans and score chasers. Play with the keyboard or mouse on desktop, or drag on mobile with automatic fire while you touch. You start with three lives and earn an extra one every 5,000 points. Tip: clear the outer columns first, because a narrower formation takes longer to reach the edges and step down toward you.
How to play
Shoot the marching aliens before they reach the ground. Top-row aliens are worth 30 points, middle rows 20 and bottom rows 10, and the saucer pays 50 to 300. Shields block shots but wear down from both sides. You have three lives, earn another every 5,000 points, and the game ends when lives run out or the aliens land. Move with the arrows, A/D or mouse and fire with Space, W, Up or click; on touch screens, drag to move and auto-fire.
