Spades Bid
Partnership Spades against the computer: bid your tricks, go Nil if you dare, trust your AI partner and out-trump the table while you climb an eight-table tournament ladder with daily challenges.
Spades Bid is a partnership trick-taking card game where you and an AI partner face two computer opponents. Spades are always trump, and before every hand each player bids how many tricks they expect to win. Your team contract is the sum of the two bids, so reading your hand and trusting your partner is half the game. Cards are drawn on a midnight-blue felt table with smooth animations.
Make your contract to score ten points per trick bid, but miss it and you lose that many. Extra tricks become bags worth a point each, and ten bags cost a hundred points. A Nil bid promises zero tricks for a plus or minus hundred swing, and your partner will try to cover you. Spades cannot lead until broken. Opponents play at three levels: Easy bots bid and play loosely, Normal bots count sure winners, and Hard bots track cards, protect Nil bids, avoid bags and try to set you. Win matches to climb eight tables, earn chips and XP, rank up and unlock card backs and felts. A daily challenge adds a fixed deal and a twist such as bigger Nil bonuses.
It is for fans of bidding card games who want a tidy single-player match in about ten minutes. Tip: bid your Aces, Kings with cover and long spade suits, and do not sandbag.
How to play
Bid how many tricks you expect to win; your team bid is your bid plus your partner's. Spades are trump. Follow suit if you can, and spades cannot lead until broken. Make your bid to score 10 points per trick; miss it and lose that many. Extra tricks are bags worth 1 point each, and every 10 bags cost 100 points. Nil (zero tricks) is worth plus or minus 100. First team to the target score wins.
