Skyward Aces is a fast, colourful 3D dogfighting game that runs right in your browser. You fly over a sea of clouds dotted with floating green islands, waterfalls that spill into the mist, drifting airships and distant snowy peaks, in bright daylight, a glowing sunset or a starry night.
The Rust Pirates, a gang of clanking robot aircraft, want Haven Isle. Shoot down agile Rustwing interceptors, tough Ironhulk gunships that fill the sky with flak, and slow Hauler bombers before they drop their load. Break pirate cruisers apart turret by turret, beat the Brass Baron in a timed ace duel, and bring down the Cinderhold sky-fortress by knocking out its shield generators and hitting the core.
The flying is easy to pick up: point with the mouse and your plane follows, with boost, brakes, barrel rolls and flares for close calls. Twin cannons, lock-on missiles, combo kills, slow-motion finishes and fiery explosions make every fight feel great.
Every flight earns XP and coins. Unlock five planes with their own handling and weapons, buy paint schemes and upgrades, and chase bronze, silver and gold medals on seven missions. When you want more, try endless Survival with upgrades between waves, or the Daily Challenge with new twists every day. It plays on touchscreens too.
How to play
Click Play and move the mouse to steer; your plane turns toward the aim circle. Hold the left mouse button or Space to fire, aiming at the small lead circle in front of a target. Keep an enemy in the bracket until it turns red, then right-click or press F to fire a homing missile. Hold Shift to boost and Ctrl or Q to brake, press E for flares when a missile warning sounds, and double-tap A or D to barrel roll out of danger. W and S pitch the nose, C switches to cockpit view and P pauses. On a phone, use the left stick to fly and the on-screen buttons to fire, launch missiles, boost, drop flares and roll.
