Sky Hopper
Bounce a doodle hopper up an endless notebook page. Steer between platforms, stomp scribbled monsters, ride springs and jetpacks, and collect stars to unlock new characters.
Sky Hopper is an endless vertical bouncing game drawn on a sheet of squared notebook paper. Your little doodle bounces automatically every time it lands on a platform, so all you do is steer left and right and choose where to land next. Slip off one edge of the page and you pop out of the other, which turns tight spots into clever shortcuts.
The climb starts gently with wide gaps and solid green ledges. Every 250 points of height you turn a new page, and the page gets meaner: blue platforms slide sideways, brown ones crack and fall the moment you touch them, gaps stretch wider, and scribbled bugs and rain clouds drift across your path. Land on a monster from above to stomp it for bonus points that grow with each stomp in a row, but bump into one from below and the run is over. Springs fling you sky-high, and a rare jetpack carries you straight up through everything.
Gold stars float above some platforms. Each one adds 25 points and goes into your lifetime star collection, which unlocks five more characters, from Froggo to Scorch the dragon, on the title screen. It is a relaxed but tense one-thumb arcade climber for quick sessions. Tip: brown cracked ledges never hold you, so always aim for green or blue.
How to play
Your hopper bounces automatically whenever it lands on a platform. Steer left and right to land on the next ledge and climb as high as you can; going off one side of the page wraps you to the other. Green ledges are safe, blue ones move and brown cracked ones break. Stomp monsters from above for bonus points, but touching them from the side or below ends the run, as does falling off the bottom of the page. Collect stars for points and to unlock new characters.
Controls
- Left / Right or A / D: Steer
- Hold left or right half of the screen: Steer on touch screens or with the mouse
- Left / Right or the arrow buttons on the title screen: Choose a character
- Space / Enter / click: Start
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
- R / Space: Restart after game over
