Ski Slalom
Carve a downhill slalom through red and blue gates, dodge pine trees, launch off jumps and race your own ghost for gold medals across ten mountain courses.
Ski Slalom is a downhill skiing race against the clock. You carve left and right through alternating red and blue gates while the mountain rushes past, and every run is timed to the hundredth of a second. Speed comes from pointing your skis downhill, so the fun is finding a line that is tight enough to make every gate without scrubbing off speed in hard turns.
There are ten courses, from the wide Bunny Bowl to the narrow, tree-lined Widowmaker. Each new course has narrower gates, bigger swings between them and more pine trees, then adds slippery ice patches where your edges barely grip and snow ramps that send you flying. A missed gate adds a three-second penalty and five misses disqualify the run, while hitting a tree throws you into the snow. Skimming a gate close to the pole earns a Tight bonus and a burst of speed, and steering in the air spins you for 360 and 720 trick points if you land straight. Each course awards bronze, silver and gold medals against a par time, a bronze unlocks the next course, and your fastest run is saved as a ghost skier to race next time.
Great for players who enjoy time trials and racing a personal best. Tip: start each turn early and let go of the steering to run straight between gates.
How to play
Steer through every gate on the way down the slope and reach the finish line as fast as possible. Missing a gate adds 3 seconds and five misses disqualify you. Trees knock you down and cost time. Pass close to a pole for a Tight speed bonus, and spin in the air off ramps for trick points, but land straight. Beat the course's bronze time to unlock the next course and race your saved ghost.
Controls
- Left / Right or A / D: Carve (release to point downhill)
- Up or W: Brake
- Left / Right in the air: Spin for tricks
- Touch: Hold the left or right side to carve, both sides to brake
- Left / Right on the menu: Choose an unlocked course
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
- R: Restart
