Sand Box is a relaxing falling-sand simulation game: a pocket world of sand, water, fire and wood under a soft blue sky. Pour sand into dunes, flood valleys with water, float oil on top and set the whole thing alight. Every grain falls, flows, burns and reacts on its own, so the fun comes from experimenting and watching what happens.
Twelve elements interact in surprising ways. Lava turns water into stone and steam, steam rises and condenses back into water drops, plants grow through ponds, acid dissolves almost anything it touches, ice slowly freezes the water around it, and stone builds sturdy walls and containers that only acid can eat through. Fire ignites wood, oil and plants, and smoke drifts up and fades away. You can change your brush size, switch on a gentle rain, or freeze the physics while you sculpt a scene before letting it run.
This free online sandbox game has no score and no game over, which makes it perfect for unwinding, creative play and curious kids on desktop or mobile. Your last creation is saved automatically. Tip: build a stone basin, fill it with water, float oil on top and drop in a spark of fire for a dramatic chain reaction.
How to play
There is no goal or game over; just create and experiment. Pick an element from the palette and drag to paint it, or right-drag or use the eraser to remove things. Change brush size with [ and ], press 1-9 or 0 to choose elements, Space to freeze or resume physics, R to toggle rain and C twice to clear the canvas. Try mixing fire with oil, lava with water and acid with stone.
