Reversi is the classic game of outflanking, set on a traditional green board with glossy black and white discs. Place a disc so it traps a line of your opponent's discs between two of yours, and watch the whole row flip to your colour in a satisfying cascade. It takes a minute to learn and a long time to master.
Every move can flip discs in several directions at once, so the lead can swing wildly right up to the final turn. Corners can never be flipped, which makes them hugely valuable, while edges and the squares next to corners carry hidden risks. Hint dots show every legal move, and if a player has no legal move their turn is passed automatically. The game ends when neither side can move, and whoever has more discs wins.
Challenge the computer on Easy, Medium or Hard, or sit down with a friend for a two-player board game on one device. This free online reversi game plays with taps on mobile or clicks and keyboard on desktop, with undo and toggleable hints. Your record and win streak are saved between visits. Tip: avoid placing discs on the squares diagonally next to an empty corner, since that often hands the corner to your opponent.
How to play
Finish with more discs of your colour than your opponent. On your turn, place a disc so that one or more straight lines of enemy discs are trapped between it and another of your discs; all trapped discs flip to your colour. Hint dots show legal moves. A player with no legal move passes, and the game ends when neither can move. Click or tap a hint dot, or use arrows and Space; U undoes and H toggles hints.
