Retro Pong recreates the original video game duel in crisp black and white on a flickering 1970s-style CRT screen. Two paddles, one ball and a race to seven points: it is classic table tennis at its simplest, and still surprisingly intense once a rally gets going.
Where the ball strikes your paddle decides its angle, with the edges sending it off steeply and the center sending it straight. Moving your paddle as you hit adds spin that curves the ball, opening up shots the opponent cannot reach. The ball speeds up with every return, so long rallies turn into nail-biting reflex battles. Play the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard; each level has human-like reaction time, so clever angles and spin can outsmart even the toughest setting.
This free two-player paddle game is a great pick for friends sharing one device. Play head to head on one keyboard, or share a phone or tablet where each player drags their own half of the screen. Solo players can use the mouse or keyboard on desktop, or drag on mobile. Tip: hit the ball near the edge of your paddle while moving, which combines a sharp angle with spin and is very hard to return.
How to play
Return the ball with your paddle and get it past your opponent. Each miss gives the other side a point, and the first to 7 wins. Paddle edges send the ball at steep angles, and moving while you hit adds spin. Against the CPU use W/S, Up/Down or the mouse. In two-player mode the left player uses W and S and the right player uses Up and Down; on touch screens each player drags on their own half.
