Polyomino Blocks
Fit colorful polyomino pieces onto the board, touching your own pieces only at the corners. Play quick duels or full games against one to three computer rivals, or share the screen.
Polyomino Blocks is a tile-placement territory game. Every player owns a set of colorful polyomino pieces, from a single square up to twelve different five-square shapes. You take turns placing one piece at a time, and every new piece must touch one of your own pieces by a corner, never along an edge. That one rule turns the board into a race for open corners: spread out, block your rivals, and fit in as many squares as you can before nobody has a legal move.
Your first games are quick duels on a small board with nine small pieces, so a full game takes about a minute. Beat the first opponent to unlock the full game with all twenty-one pieces on a larger board, then three-player and four-player games against several computer rivals. The seven computer opponents range from Sprout, who drops pieces anywhere, to Redwood, who hunts every open corner. Bonus stars on the board add points when covered. Earn XP, coins and five color sets, use undo and hints, and try the Daily Star Board, a seeded duel with stars and rocks plus a streak bonus and rotating goals.
It suits fans of abstract puzzle strategy and territory games who like spatial planning, whether solo or with a friend on one screen. Tip: play your large pieces early while the board is open, and keep the single square for the very end.
How to play
Pick a piece from the tray, aim it on the board, and place it. Your first piece must cover your glowing start square. Every later piece must touch one of your pieces by a corner only, never by an edge, though it may touch other colors anywhere. Placed squares score points, bonus stars add extra. When nobody can move, the highest score wins.
Controls
- Mouse / tap: Click a piece, then click the board to place it (touch: tap once to aim, tap the piece again to place)
- R / F: Rotate / flip the piece
- Arrow keys + Enter / Space: Move the piece and place it
- Q / E: Previous / next piece
- U / Backspace: Undo your last move
- H: Hint (costs 15 coins)
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
