Observatory Idle
Aim telescopes at the night sky, clear drifting clouds, reveal star after star to chart constellations, research better optics and explore new hemispheres in this starry observatory idle clicker.
Observatory Idle is a night sky idle clicker set under a glittering dome. Tap the observatory to work the eyepiece and earn credits, then hire ten kinds of staff and instruments, from Backyard Telescopes and Chart Makers to Radio Dishes, a Space Telescope and a Galactic Network. Shooting stars streak across the sky as you grow, and golden comets appear for random bonuses when you catch them.
The Sky tab is the heart of the game. Aim up to three telescopes at constellations and watch exposures fill, revealing one star at a time until the shape lights up and joins into a charted constellation. Drifting clouds slow your exposures, so tap them to clear the sky. Discoveries earn credits, gems, Data and permanent production bonuses, and Data buys a research tree of faster exposures, extra telescopes, cloud control and funding. When growth slows, chart a new hemisphere to earn Stardust for permanent perks, with six skies that each hold a fresh set of five constellations. Telescopes keep working while you are away, and offline earnings are capped at eight hours.
It suits stargazers and idle fans who like collecting and slow, steady growth. Daily missions, a daily challenge, a seven day reward calendar, ranks, six telescope paint jobs and achievements add variety. Tip: keep every telescope aimed before you leave, and spend your first Data on Better Lenses.
How to play
Tap the observatory (or press Space) to earn credits. Hire staff and buy upgrades, then use the Sky tab to aim telescopes at constellations. Each exposure reveals a star, and finished constellations give permanent bonuses, gems and Data for research. Tap clouds to clear them and catch golden comets for bonuses. When growth slows, chart a new hemisphere from the Travel tab to earn Stardust for permanent perks. Progress saves automatically and earns credits while you are away.
Controls
- Tap a constellation / cloud: Aim the selected telescope at a constellation, or clear a cloud from the sky
- Mouse / tap: Tap the main object to earn, tap shop rows to buy, tap bonus events
- Drag / mouse wheel: Scroll the shop list
- Space / Enter: Tap the main object
- 1-9: Buy the matching row in the open tab
- Q / E: Switch tabs
- B: Cycle buy amount (x1, x10, x100, max)
- G: Catch a bonus event
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
- R: Start the next run after prestiging
