Neon Racer is a retro synthwave racing game that sends you down an endless highway under a giant striped neon sun. The road twists through sweeping curves and rolling hills, lined with glowing palms, light pylons and chevron signs, while the grid horizon streams past at close to 300 km/h. The pure sense of speed is the star of the show.
It is a time-attack race against the clock. Every checkpoint gate you reach buys more seconds, but the bonus shrinks the farther you go and traffic gets heavier, so clean driving matters more and more. Weave between cars that change lanes (watch for their blinkers) and stay on the asphalt: running wide onto the grid slows you down a lot, hitting a roadside sign or palm nearly stops you, and rear-ending a car costs precious speed. Each race is generated fresh, so you never drive the same road twice.
This free online driving game suits arcade racing fans who love chasing a longer distance on every attempt. Play with the keyboard on desktop, or hold the left and right halves of the screen on mobile, where the gas is automatic. Tip: pick your passing lane early and stay on the asphalt through curves, because running wide onto the grid costs far more time than a careful line.
How to play
Drive as far as you can before the timer hits zero. Reach each checkpoint gate for bonus time, avoid traffic and stay on the road, because going off-road, hitting roadside objects or rear-ending cars all cost speed. Your score is the total distance in metres. Accelerate with Up or W, steer with Left/Right or A/D and brake with Down or S. On touch screens hold the left or right half to steer and both halves to brake.
