Movie Studio Idle is a glitzy backlot idle clicker. Tap the clapperboard on the red carpet to earn coins, then hire ten kinds of crew, from Script Readers and Camera Operators to Stunt Doubles, a Special Effects Team and a Streaming Deal. Searchlights sweep the sky as you grow, and golden tickets drift past for random bonuses when you catch them.
The Studio tab is where you make movies. Greenlight comedies, dramas, action films and more on up to three soundstages, pick an Indie, Studio or Blockbuster budget and watch the cameras roll in real time. A film's quality depends on its budget, the stars you have signed, your departments and a trending genre that changes every few minutes. The premiere then reveals a flop, a hit or a masterpiece with a box office to match, and hits earn permanent Walk of Fame bonuses and gems. When growth slows, hold an awards ceremony to earn Trophies for permanent perks, with six seasons that each change the lot and give an effect. Films finish while you are away, and offline earnings are capped at eight hours.
It suits fans of tycoon and management games who enjoy a little risk. Daily missions, a daily challenge, a seven day reward calendar, ranks, six clapperboard styles and achievements add variety. Tip: sign a star for your best genre before a big budget film, and follow the hot genre.
How to play
Tap the clapperboard (or press Space) to earn coins. Hire crew and buy upgrades, then use the Studio tab to greenlight films, pick a budget, sign stars and build departments. Quality decides whether a film flops or becomes a hit, and hits fill your Walk of Fame for permanent bonuses. Catch golden tickets for bonuses and finish daily missions. When growth slows, hold an awards ceremony from the Awards tab to earn Trophies for permanent perks. Progress saves automatically and earns coins while you are away.

- Tap Film (Studio tab): Greenlight a film of that genre on a free soundstage
- Mouse / tap: Tap the main object to earn, tap shop rows to buy, tap bonus events
- Drag / mouse wheel: Scroll the shop list
- Space / Enter: Tap the main object
- 1-9: Buy the matching row in the open tab
- Q / E: Switch tabs
- B: Cycle buy amount (x1, x10, x100, max)
- G: Catch a bonus event
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
- R: Start the next run after prestiging
