Mancala Sow
A tactile seed-sowing game with extra turns and captures. Win tournament cups against seven rivals, solve daily seed puzzles, tune the seed count, or play a friend on one screen.
Mancala Sow is a fast, tactile seed-sowing game based on the popular Kalah rules. On your turn you scoop every seed from one of your six pits and sow them one at a time counter-clockwise, dropping a bead in each pit and in your own store as you pass. If your last seed lands in your store you take another turn. If it lands in an empty pit on your side, you capture it together with all the seeds in the pit opposite. When one side runs out, the remaining seeds go to their owner, and the fuller store wins.
Seven opponents wait in a tournament ladder split into three cups. Copper Cup has Kiko, Dune and Amira, Silver Cup has Tarek and Zahra, and the Gold Cup finals are Khalid and Sage Omar. Win the last match of a cup to earn its trophy and bonus coins. Kiko sows at random and Dune chases extra turns, while the stronger rivals search deeper and deeper. Match settings offer three, four or six seeds per pit and let you turn captures off. Every day brings three seed puzzles where you must score a target number of seeds in a single turn by chaining extra turns and captures.
It is easy to learn and great for quick sessions, and also works for two players on one screen. Tip: a pit whose seed count equals its distance to your store gives a free turn, so look for those first.
How to play
Tap one of your pits to sow its seeds counter-clockwise, one per pit, including your store but skipping your rival's. End in your store for an extra turn. End in an empty pit of yours to capture the seeds opposite. The game ends when a side is empty, and the player with more seeds in their store wins. Win cup finals for trophies, and solve the daily puzzles by reaching the target in one turn.
Controls
- Mouse / tap: Tap one of your pits to sow it
- 1 - 6: Sow the pit at that position, left to right
- Arrow keys + Enter / Space: Choose a pit and sow it
- U / Backspace: Undo your last move
- H: Hint (costs 15 coins)
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
