Library Idle
Run a cozy library in this idle clicker. Shelve books, hire scholars, research eight genres, hunt rare editions for your display case and expand into a grand library.
Library Idle is a warm idle clicker set among tall wooden bookshelves. Tap the big open book on your reading desk to shelve books and earn pages, then hire ten kinds of staff and wings, from Shelvers and Librarians to Printing Presses, a Rare Book Vault and the Endless Stacks. The shelves fill up as your library grows, scholars read at the sides and dust floats in the lamplight.
The Research tab is the twist. Put your desks to work studying eight genres, from Fiction and History to Magic and Philosophy. Each finished project levels the genre up for a permanent production bonus, and each level takes longer, so choose carefully. Every project also has a chance to turn up a rare edition. There are twenty-four of them in three rarities, a pity counter guarantees a find after a few misses, and they gather in a glass display case in the scene. Unlock the Study Group to repeat projects, even while you are away. When growth slows, expand: a new wing earns Lore for a permanent bonus and raises the genre level cap, while your editions are kept.
A seven-day calendar, a daily modifier, a three-star challenge, missions and achievements bring you back. Offline earnings are capped at eight hours. Tip: study cheap genres first to level them quickly.
How to play
Tap or press Space to shelve books. Buy staff and tools, start research projects in the Research tab, collect rare editions and expand the library once you can gain at least five Lore. Your score is the Lore earned in one expansion.
Controls
- Mouse / tap: Shelve books, buy and start research
- Space / Enter: Tap the main object
- 1-9: Buy the numbered row in the open tab
- Q / E: Previous / next tab
- B: Cycle buy amount (x1, x10, x100, max)
- G: Catch the bonus event
- P / Esc: Pause
- M: Mute
- R: Start the next run from the result screen
