Solve it before the chalk drawing is finished and your little chalk buddy drops free and bounces for joy.
The game includes over 450 words and phrases. Correct letters light up and fill in the word, while every wrong letter adds another stroke to the figure, and six misses end the run. Each solved word scores points for remaining lives and letters, multiplied by your streak up to x3, so long runs grow your score quickly. You start with three hints and earn another every five words, but each hint costs points and resets your streak, so save them for real emergencies.
This free online hangman game suits word lovers, students and anyone who wants a relaxed vocabulary challenge on desktop or mobile, with an on-screen keyboard for touch play. Tip: start with common vowels like E and A, then try frequent consonants such as R, S and T before guessing rarer letters.
How to play
Guess the hidden word by typing letters or tapping the on-screen keyboard. Correct letters appear in the word; wrong letters add a piece to the drawing, and six wrong guesses lose the word and end the run. Each solved word scores 10 points per remaining life plus 2 per letter, multiplied by your streak. Press ? or the Hint button to reveal a letter for 15 points, Enter for the next word and Esc to pause.
Controls
- A-Z keys / tap letters: Guess a letter
- ? key / Hint button: Reveal a letter (costs 15 points, resets streak)
- Enter / Space: Start, next word, play again
- Arrow keys: Choose a category on the title screen
- Esc / pause button: Pause (P is a letter)
