Gomoku Five
Five-in-a-row on a 15x15 wooden board. Climb a ladder of seven threat-searching opponents, solve three win-in-N puzzles every day, collect stone sets, or play a friend on the same screen.
Gomoku Five is a classic five-in-a-row strategy game played on a 15 by 15 wooden board. You and your opponent take turns placing black and white stones, and the first player to line up five or more in a row, column or diagonal wins. Games are quick to learn and surprisingly deep, because every stone is an attack, a defence or both.
You climb a ladder of seven opponents. Sprout plays on instinct, Pebble blocks fours but misses threes, and Willow searches a couple of moves ahead. Heron, Fox, Crane and Old Tortoise use threat-based search that finds forced wins built from chains of fours and spots your plans early. Higher rungs add symmetric rocks that nobody can use, which changes the shape of the opening. Wins earn XP, coins and levels, and coins buy new stone sets or a hint when you are stuck. Every day brings three win-in-N puzzles, a streak counter and three rotating goals.
It suits fans of connect-five, tic-tac-toe grown up and other classic board games, solo or in the 2 Players pass-and-play mode. On touch screens you tap a spot to preview it and tap again to place. Tip: an open three, three stones with room at both ends, must be answered at once, and two threats created together usually wins the game.
How to play
Take turns placing stones on the board intersections. Make five or more of your stones in a row, column or diagonal before your opponent does. Block their fours and open threes while building your own. Beat each opponent on the ladder to unlock the next, solve the daily puzzles by forcing a win with fours within the move limit, and earn XP and coins for upgrades.
