Gear Turn
Place brass gears on a workshop grid to carry power from the motor to the machine, and use Twist gears to make it spin the right way before time runs out.
Gear Turn is a mechanical logic puzzle about building a working drive train. A motor sits on one side of the pegboard and a machine on the other. Every gear you drop on a peg meshes with its side-by-side neighbors and spins the opposite way, so the chain you build decides which way the machine finally turns. Watching a long line of brass teeth start rotating together is the payoff, and a jammed loop shudders to a stop the moment two gears fight each other.
Each level is generated fresh with a limited stock of gears, stone blocks in the way and a countdown clock. Early boards are small and generous with spare gears. Later grids grow to seven by nine, spares run out and, from level three, the machine often needs to spin against the natural parity of the path. That is where the Twist gear comes in: tap a placed gear again and it drives its neighbors the same way it spins, flipping the direction downstream. Clearing a level quickly with gears left over earns a bigger score bonus.
This gear puzzle suits players who enjoy short, thoughtful challenges with a light time pressure. Tip: count the gears on your route before placing them. An even or odd chain tells you at once whether you need a single Twist gear to fix the direction.
How to play
Tap empty pegs to place gears and build a side-by-side chain from the motor to the machine. Tap a gear again to make it a Twist gear, which turns its neighbors the same way and flips the direction, and tap once more to remove it. Make the machine spin the way its arrow shows before the timer runs out. Faster solves with spare gears score more, and running out of time ends the run.
