American football field goal kicking duels: swipe to kick through wind and wide hash angles, survive icing on clutch kicks and win a season against rival kickers.

Field Goal Kick is an American football kicking game set on a crisp autumn afternoon. Every week you face a rival kicker in a five-round kicking duel: they kick, then you kick from the same spot, and each make is worth three points. The kicks get longer every round, from short chip shots to long bombs, and if the duel is tied after five rounds it goes to sudden death from even further out.

Kicking is all about direction and power. Swipe up from the ball: the angle of your swipe aims the kick and its length sets the power, or use the keyboard to stop a swinging aim needle and then a power meter. Wind blows the ball sideways, so you need to aim into it, and kicks from the left or right hash give you tough angles. Hit the post and it might bounce in or out. On clutch kicks the other team may call a timeout to ice you, which makes your aim shaky and the meters faster. The Rookie, Pro and Legend leagues bring wider hashes, stronger and gustier wind, longer kicks and sharper rival kickers.

This football game suits anyone who enjoys short, tense skill shots with a season to play through. Win four of six regular games to reach the title game, and a title unlocks the next league, saved for next time. Tip: check the wind arrow before every kick and aim a little upwind.

How to play

Win kicking duels against rival kickers. In each round the rival kicks first, then you kick from the same spot. Swipe up from the ball to aim and set power, or press Space to lock the aim needle and Space again to set power. Clear the crossbar between the uprights to score 3. Points are based on distance, with bonuses for splitting the uprights and making clutch or iced kicks. Win 4 of 6 games to reach the title game.

C: Continue in your highest unlocked league on the title screen
