Euchre Trump
Four-player partnership euchre against three computer players: order up or name trump, use the bowers, go alone for big scores, climb an eight-table ladder and play daily challenges.
Euchre Trump is the fast trick-taking card game for four players, with you and North as partners against West and East. Only the 9 through Ace are dealt, five cards each, and every hand starts with a bid: order up the turned card to make its suit trump, or pass and name a different suit in the second round. The Jack of trump (the right bower) and the other Jack of the same colour (the left bower) become the strongest cards, which makes every hand a puzzle of who holds what.
The team that picks trump must win three of the five tricks. Take them all for a march, or go alone: your partner sits out and the score jumps to four points for a clean sweep. Fail and the other team scores a euchre. The three computer players bid and play at Easy, Normal or Hard, and Hard opponents count trump, cover their partner and know when to lead their bowers. Win matches to climb eight tables with different targets and rules, such as a three-point euchre or a six-point lone march, and unlock card backs and felts in the Locker. Daily challenges bring a fixed deal and a new twist, with a streak bonus for coming back.
It suits partnership card game fans and anyone who wants a short trick-taking game. Tip: lead trump when you called it, and think twice before ordering up when your opponent is the dealer.
How to play
Each hand, order up the turned card or name trump. The Jack of trump and the other Jack of the same colour are the top cards. Follow suit if you can and win tricks with higher cards or trump. The makers need 3 of 5 tricks for a point (all 5 for 2, or 4 alone); if they fail it is a euchre and the other team scores 2. First team to the target score wins.
