Echo Locate
Navigate a pitch-black maze by sonar. Send echo pings to reveal walls, the exit and lurking monsters, but every ping wakes them up.
Echo Locate is a tense sonar maze game played almost entirely in the dark. You can only see the walls right next to you. To find your way, send out an echo ping: a ring of sound spreads across the maze, lighting up walls, the yellow exit and any red monsters it touches for a few seconds before everything fades again.
Every ping is a gamble. The information is vital, but the noise also alerts the monsters, which speed up and start hunting toward you while the alarm lasts. Pings recharge after a moment, so you have to memorise the layout, move in the dark and only call for help when you are lost. Each maze you escape adds time to the clock and score, and the next maze has more monsters. Being caught costs a life, and running out of time or lives ends the run.
It is made for players who like atmospheric maze games and a bit of nervous tension. Tip: ping once at the start, plan a route to the exit, then move quietly and save your next ping for junctions.
How to play
Move with WASD or the arrow keys, or hold the mouse or your finger where you want to go. Press Space, right-click or tap the PING button to send a sonar echo that briefly reveals walls, the exit and monsters, but also makes the monsters hunt you. Reach the yellow exit before time runs out. Three catches end the run.
