Echo
Watch four glowing pads light up, then echo the pattern back. The sequence grows each round while pads swap places, rounds reverse and the tempo rises.
Echo is a neon memory game built around a simple promise: watch, listen, repeat. Four glowing pads each play a note from a bright major chord. Every round the machine adds one more note to the sequence and plays the whole thing back, then hands it to you. Repeat it correctly and the pads burst with light; miss a single note and the run is over.
What keeps it fresh is how the rules bend as you climb. From round 4 two pads trade places after the demonstration on even rounds, so you have to remember colors rather than positions. From round 7 some rounds must be played back in reverse, flagged in the center hub. Round 10 starts speeding the playback up, and from round 14 every pad shuffles before your turn. Each correct note scores a point, and the furthest round you reach earns a saved rank, from Novice through Listener and Maestro up to Living Echo, shown on the title screen with the next goal.
This pattern memory challenge is great for short brain training sessions and for anyone who likes musical games. Tip: hum the melody while it plays. The notes stay attached to their colors even when pads move, so your ear can carry you when the layout changes.
How to play
Watch the pads light up and listen to the notes, then press the pads in the same order. Each correct note scores one point and finishing the sequence starts a longer one. Later rounds swap or shuffle the pads, ask for the sequence in reverse, and play faster. One wrong press ends the run.
