Crossword Mini is a pocket-sized crossword puzzle: a small five by five grid, a handful of Across and Down clues and a satisfying solve in a couple of minutes. Clues use plain language, answers are common English words, and the crossing letters help you check your own work. It is a relaxed word game for coffee breaks.
Click a square and type, click it again to flip between Across and Down, or tap the clue bar arrows to jump from clue to clue. A full clue list on wide screens strikes through every word you finish. Check highlights wrong letters in red, while Reveal letter and Reveal word show the answer if you are truly stuck. Your first reveal on every puzzle is free and later ones cost coins, though you are never locked out. Three stars need a solve with no reveals and at most one check. The campaign offers thirty puzzles that unlock in order, there are over a hundred more in the pool for free play, and the daily mini is the same for everyone that day.
Earn coins and experience to rank up, unlock themes such as Blueprint, Sepia and Midnight ink, buy extra free reveals and a coin bonus, complete daily goals and build a streak. It suits crossword fans, vocabulary learners and anyone who wants a quick brain boost. Tip: start with the short three letter answers, because they give you letters for the longer words.
How to play
Fill every white square so each Across and Down word matches its clue. Click a square and type, click again to switch direction, and use Tab for the next clue. Check shows wrong letters, and Reveal gives hints. Finish with no reveals for three stars.
