Color Chain
Link each pair of matching colored dots with a path on a notebook-paper grid. Paths cannot cross and must fill every cell, across ten boards from 5x5 to 9x9.
Color Chain is a relaxing dot-connecting logic puzzle drawn in bold marker colors on a notebook-paper backdrop. Each board holds a few pairs of same-colored dots. Drag from one dot to its partner to draw a colored chain, then do the same for every other pair. The catch is that chains can never cross, and when you are done every single square on the grid has to be covered.
The run has ten freshly generated boards, so no two games are the same. You start on a 5x5 grid with four colors and work up through 6x6, 7x7 and 8x8 to a pair of 9x9 boards with up to nine colors. Every puzzle is built from one long hidden path, so a full solution always exists. Drawing over another chain cuts it back, which makes experimenting painless, and a Clear button wipes the board when you want a fresh look. Each solved board scores points for its size, a bonus for solving quickly and an extra bonus for using few strokes.
This path drawing puzzle is ideal for anyone who likes calm brain teasers. Tip: start with dots near the edges and corners, since their routes have the fewest options, then let the middle chains fill whatever space is left.
How to play
Drag from a colored dot to the other dot of the same color to connect them. Chains cannot cross, and the board is only solved when every pair is linked and every cell is filled. Drawing through another chain cuts it back. Each solved board scores points, with bonuses for speed and for using few strokes. Solve all ten boards to finish the run.
