Blade Dancer
Swipe to dash-slash through ink-brush warriors on a paper battlefield, chain several foes into one stroke for combos, clear dojo stages and slay the Oni.
Blade Dancer is a one-stroke slasher painted in black ink and crimson on old paper. Every swipe sends your swordsman dashing in a straight line, cutting down everyone in the path and leaving a wet brush stroke behind. Line up two, three or more enemies in a single slash and the points multiply, with a hit-stop freeze and rising chime for each big combo.
The dojo is split into stages. Each one asks you to cut down a set number of foes, then rewards a score bonus and restores a heart. Stage one is only sword grunts, but archers, shield-cracking brutes and charging dashers join as you climb, all getting quicker to strike. Every attack is telegraphed in red: a growing circle for a swing, a line for an arrow or a charge, so reading the field matters as much as speed. Your dash even parries arrows in flight. Every fourth stage the horned Oni appears, a huge brute that takes several strikes while minions keep coming. Your best score, best stage and belt rank, from white to black, are saved.
It is a great pick for fans of quick reflex action and stylish sword games who like short, tense runs. Tip: wait for a crowd to bunch up, then cut straight through the middle.
How to play
Swipe, drag or click to dash-slash in a direction; anything in your path is cut. Hitting several enemies with one slash multiplies their points. Red circles and lines warn of incoming attacks, so dash out of them. Clear each stage's kill quota to earn a bonus and a heart back; every fourth stage you must defeat the Oni. Lose all three hearts and the run ends.
