Balance Scale
Level a brass balance scale against a mystery crate. Drag numbered weights onto either pan and make both sides equal before the timer runs out, across ten trickier scales.
Balance Scale is a quick math puzzle set on an old apothecary scale. A wooden crate with a number on it sits on the left pan, and a row of brass weights waits in the tray below. Your job is simple to say and fun to solve: make both sides weigh exactly the same. The beam tilts smoothly with every weight you add, so you can feel when you are getting close.
The first scales only need a couple of weights on the right pan. From level four onward the best answer often puts a weight on the crate's side too, so you have to think in differences instead of plain sums. Weight sets grow from 1, 2 and 5 up to 20 and 50, while the timer for each level gets shorter. Run out of time and you lose one of three hearts and get a fresh crate. Every balanced scale pays out a bonus for the seconds you had left, and clearing all ten wins the run.
This is a calm but quick brain teaser for anyone who likes mental arithmetic and logic puzzles. Tip: read the hint above the beam. It tells you exactly how much heavier one side is, so match that number with the fewest weights and you will bank more time.
How to play
Make the scale level by placing weights so the right pan equals the crate plus anything on the left pan. Drag a weight onto a pan, or tap a weight and then a pan; tap a placed weight to send it back. Balance quickly for a bigger time bonus. Running out of time costs a heart, and losing all three ends the run. Balance all ten scales to win.
